So. I first joined devinanART in April of 2011. That would have been my junior year of High School. Up until I joined, I thought that my writing was the most amazing thing to ever happen to the world (don't we all?) but I was too nervous to post it. I started posting my mediocre drawings instead. It wasn't until I saw a feature done by LadyLincoln that I decided to start posting my writing for feedback. Needless to say, my writing back then sucked, and I didn't get any feedback what-so-ever.
Then I learned I needed to give back to the community to get stuff from the community. I decided to start an article called Let's Talk Writing. It's probably one of the best things that I've ever done here. I've been able to meet so many cool people and learn about how they write.
I started to post better writing and get better feedback. Interacting with my very first friends on here was amazing. feliciaruiyi was the first person on here that I actually talked to. I met Zingaresa and brynisch when I did my first FFM back in 2012, and it was such a fun experience. I learned a lot about writing flash fiction, which I had never heard of before then. I definitely grew as a writer during that time.
I started to become a bigger part of the Literature community, and I was super excited to be interacting with the people that I had looked up to, including LadyLincoln, betwixtthepages, SilverInkblot, raspil and Nichrysalis. I applied to be a Literature Volunteer every time the opportunity arose, and I think it was after the second or third time when Nichrysalis invited me to be a backroom person at CRLiterature.
The experiences I've had while being a part of CRLiterature have been some of the best experiences here on dA. I've met new people, like BeccaJS, inknalcohol, and neurotype-on-discord, and I was able to get to know HugQueen, LadyLincoln, and PinkyMcCoversong better. I've been a part of some really awesome projects, namely The CRLiterature Book Club, which is the brainchild of PinkyMcCoversong and me.
So that's the summation of my time here on dA! It's been such a roller-coaster, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. //sappy
