's Heat Contest!
(for lack of anything else to call it.) I hope I'm not too late!
This one has been brewing in my head for some time, and I'm really glad I finally was able to translate what I was thinking into words. Speaking of words, I used a bunch of weather jargon for this, so I'll define the more obscure ones.Air-mass Thunderstorm -
Generally, a thunderstorm not associated with a front or other type of synoptic-scale forcing mechanism. Air mass thunderstorms typically are associated with warm, humid air in the summer months; they develop during the afternoon in response to insolation, and dissipate rather quickly after sunset.Cloudburst-
A sudden, intense rainfall that is normally of short duration.Inversion-
An increase in temperature with height. The reverse of the normal cooling with height in the atmosphere. Temperature inversions trap atmospheric pollutants in the lower troposphere, resulting in higher concentrations of pollutants at ground levels than would usually be experienced.
Day no but i seriously hope this isn't too late
