If this seems familiar to some of you, that's because it is! This is the novel that I conceived the idea for during FFM. Here's a short blurb (to be reworked):
"Cassandra is a princess. Her father, the King, is on the search to find someone for her to marry.
Zachary is a commoner. He is thrown in prison after being caught stealing.
They are about to be thrown into an adventure beyond their wildest dreams."
Here are the pieces I've written for it, currently.
'Hey, Princess'"It's your kiss, princess," the king said.
Cassandra walked down the aisle. Her footsteps were measured, gaze sweeping the face of every man standing in front of her. She stopped in front of a manboy with curly brown hair whose face she knew well. When she pulled away from their kiss, he grinned.
CassandraThe brown haired boy ran down the lane, dodging past market goers with pitter-patter bare feet. Daring to glance behind him, he spotted his pursuers and kicked over a barrel as he passed. Shouts rang out as he tugged on clothing, reins, and anything else he could lay his hands on.
Down the street, a procession of horses grew steadily closer to the running boy. He looked behind him again and slammed right into the body of the lead horse.
“What have we here?” a low voice drawled, grabbing the boy's wrist and yanking him into the air.
“A petty thief, no doubt,” another voice chimed in.
The boy struggled to pull free,
Brief Meetings"Cassandra, I need you to go into the city and make an appearance. Since you have been sick for the past couple of weeks, the people have been worrying about your well-being. We need you to reassure to them that you are well and healthy." The princess was seated on the dais below him. Nodding, she stood and smoothed her skirts. "Yes, father. Will Orion be accompanying me?"
He nodded, waving his hand, the feathers in his quill vibrating and catching the air. Orion moved from his usual spot behind the King's chair, following the princess ou
